Lex has been working with organisations to improve their performance for ten years, and has recently completed her MSc Organisational Behaviour (Psychology) from Birkbeck, University of London. She has worked with a range of companies, from the public sector, the luxury goods industry and professional sports teams. Prior to this, Lex worked as a journalist in sport, health and fitness. When not thinking about organisational behaviour, Lex can be found scaring herself silly by listening to true crime podcasts whilst taking long walks, running or cycling.
Amber has with over 20 years experience operating at a senior level at three of the UK’s leading High Street retailers. She began her career at Boots undertaking a variety of buying and category management roles. She quickly progressed to full P&L responsibility for many of the major own brands and primary Health & Beauty categories. Amber moved to Marks and Spencer as Head of Selling and Marketing Beauty. Here, she “recreated” the M&S Beauty proposition and customer experience, starting with the development of a Strategic Vision and concluding with the design and implementation of over 100 new Beauty shops over the following two years. Amber then joined Sainsbury’s as Head of Health, Beauty & Baby. In this key commercial and strategic role, she led all the strategic thinking and trading activity to drive increased sales and profit for the division. She created a clear customer proposition and strategy to develop the division for the future. Now, working with Speaking Rights, Amber is focused on sharing her vast knowledge on leadership, strategy and team integration.
In her consulting practice, she specializes in leadership coaching and organizational change in non-profit organizations, foundations, small to mid-sized businesses, community development, higher educational institutions, and collaborative networks.
Dr. Allen has written and presented widely on topics related to leadership, human development, and organizational development. Dr. Allen is a skilled facilitator of organizational change and organizational development. The earmarks of her work are the creation of shared ownership of the results of a change project, long-term sustainable change for the organization, and increased capacity for the staff members and leaders in those organizations.
More recently, Dr. Allen has written Leading from the Roots: Nature Inspired Leadership Lessons for Today’s World. This book firmly anchors leadership in the soil of nature.
